The doctor who first noticed it is Robert Daum and he was wonderful to interview. He also says he's always looking for volunteers for the MRSA project!

While your article was actually all news to me, the most surprising fact I read was "In a county with a population of 5.2 million, David said, 108,000 people pass through the Cook County Jail in a year—that’s 1 in every 50 citizens." 1 in 50: those statistics shocked me. I guess I live in some sort of positive society bubble.
